Chapter 10 is coming along okay. I probably won't have as much done as I would like by the end of the week, but I'm going to resume updates next Monday since I don't want to take more than 2 weeks off from updates.

I said I'd fill this week with trivia and behind the scenes stuff, so here's some trivia: Shai Away was supposed to be a practice comic I expected to scrap after a few weeks. I always had a bad track record with webcomics. Between 2009 and 2012 I think I must have started at least a dozen. I would spend months planning, only to scrap it after spending only a week drawing the dang thing. My most "successful webcomic" (in terms of completed work) was only 25 pages, but the pain of scrapping that and wasting all that time hit me so hard that I vowed to never make a webcomic again. That was in 2012 and I stuck with that.

Shai Away was 2016 me thinking "hey, maybe I can make a small, self contained story, and this can be my warmup for bigger projects". I did not expect this thing to last longer than a week. I had ideas for future events/chapters when I was working on chapter 1, but I avoided outlining them or putting them down on paper because I didn't think the project would last. If chapter 2 seems weird/disjointed, that's because it was me scrambling after realizing "oh god, I didn't scrap it, I'm actually doing this, why didn't I write down anything?"

This webcomic is a first for me in a lot of ways, but even though I'm constantly frustrated with my own art and writing, I'm excited to take this webcomic someplace my previous comics never got to go to: the end.

So this is less of a piece of trivia and more of a thank you to everyone who takes the time to read this. You guys give me the drive to keep going <3
